We took the "5 Retro Home Decor Styles Making a Comeback this Fall" from Home & Garden and put our spin on them! Here's how we would incorporate these cozy, timeless trends into your flooring design.
I NEED a rug made from this gorgeous Autumn Acorn carpet from Anderson Tuftex. (Yes, we can have rugs bound from all of our carpet options.👏)
It brings to mind a moody library, a cat curled up on a comfy chair, a fire roaring in the hearth, and pumpkin-scented candles.
Home & Garden named Vintage Prep as one of the top 5 hottest retro fall design trends this year, and this plaid patterned carpet embodies that classic, sophisticated, Ivy-league feel so well.
I mean, what is more retro than polka dots?
This classic Basketweave Mosaic from MSI does a beautiful job of achieving the vintage polka dot look with a modern flair. Paired with a dark, moody paint color, this tile really pops in any bathroom, kitchen, or entryway.
You could also get this look with a penny round mosaic or larger dots (check out the Indoterra collection from Marazzi.)
Warm, chocolatey, mocha brown has really been having a moment lately, not only in fashion, but in interior design. I personally am leaning into it as someone who would live in a cozy coffeeshop if I could. ☕
We have SO many shades of engineered hardwood and luxury vinyl that evoke coffeehouse vibes, so I will try to only recommend a few:
Dark wood tones are definitively NOT a thing of the past, since they are one of the retro trends making a comeback this autumn and due to the simple fact that they are timeless.
I have to admit, this trend was an easy one for me to write about because we have tons and tons of statement tile selections in our showroom and even MORE available to order from our vendors.
Installing a bold, fun tile is a great way to add a focal point to your kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, or wherever you want an accent. It can also serve as the inspiration for the entire room.
While it may take some time to find a statement tile that you know you will love for years to come, our in-store experts have a gift for finding the perfect product for your style.
From dainty flowers that hearken back to the Victorian Era to bold black and white geometric patterns that reference the Op Art wave of the 1960's, patterned tile looks in 2025 are bringing back the best of these vintage design eras.
Here are some statement tile selections to inspire you:
Channel your inner Dorothy Draper and embrace the 1920's-era art-deco design that is having a resurgence this season.
One of my FAVORITE selections in our showroom would be absolutely perfect for someone wanting to incorporate this trend. Mannington's Adura Flex Villa collection offers a black-and-white checkered luxury vinyl tile (featured here) that looks luxurious and opulent, but is incredibly durable and budget-friendly.
Who says you need old money to look old money?
Other great ways to incorporate the Art Deco style into your home are to use bold, glamorous (but affordable) materials and finishes that add shine and contrast to your space.
The room shown in this photo tastefully nods to this design trend by adding pops of gold in the fixtures and furniture. And the herringbone pattern hardwood is what takes it from average to glamorous.
For those of you as in love with this floor as I am, it is called Revival Walnut Herringbone in the Color Sirocca by Anderson Tuftex.
I hope you enjoyed learning about these 5 retro styles making a comeback this fall and how we can apply these to flooring and tile design.
